Raju's world should be vast like the open sky

Raju Das is a 27-year-old young man who has been exceptionally capable since birth. However, he has never experienced the overall well-being of life and continues to struggle to survive amidst financial constraints. Despite these hardships, he moves forward in life solely through the efforts of his mother. Poverty has been a constant companion. His mother supports Raju by working as a maid in people’s homes. At various times, people from the surrounding area have come forward to help. Uttaran has also stood by this family as a steadfast supporter. In an effort to bring some relief from the suffocating confinement of their closed home, Uttaran has provided Raju with a new tricycle. May Raju now see the open sky, roam freely in the fresh air, and establish a bright future—this is Uttaran’s heartfelt prayer.

Our Approach

Our 18 years long journey is solely dedicated to spread social ,moral and environmental awareness among the people around and provide various educational facilities to the children who are physically and economically backward. With this humanitarian approach of ours we are lucky enough to build a network of volunteers and well- wishers who have made us more strong and confident.

THE TWO INDOMITABLE DEY BROTHERS

Ishan (11) and Oishik (9) had to leave their father’s place and shift to their grandparent’s house along with their mother. Being unable to tolerate the torture Ishan’s mother took hold of her two sons and helplessly moved on to her parents house. Amidst extreme poverty and uncertainty of the future this lady approaches us. We immediately provide these two brothers with proper books, copies and other necessary educational amenities. But this is not it. The main challenge arises now for these two little boys to attend school regularly. As they were initially admitted to a school nearest to their father’s place it became quite impossible to attend school which is nearly 10 km away from their present residence. But this should not be a hindrance in the way of education of these two. Our well-wishers didn’t hesitate to bestow their love on these two little boys. UTTARAN arranged a bicycle for them and now they should fear no more. It is our duty now to smoothen their moving of the wheels towards a brighter future. We wish them all luck and prosperity in future.

"Uttaran'' is a social organization. I have been involved with this organisation since its inception. They are doing social duties with great sincerity. Humanism is the main goal of the long journey. Wish this organisation more success in the coming days.

Madhumita is 18 now , still cannot walk on her own

Madhumita’s father is a daily wage worker and though her mother initially worked as a house help,due to some physical restrictions she quitted her job. Madhumita was a jovial little girl till the age of five but destiny has its own plan. Due to some neurological disorder she lost her ability to walk on her own. Things were getting worse eventually. With growing age it became impossible for her parents to provide her with a certain prescribed protein diet that will help her cure faster. They approach us and this case comes up to our priority list. From providing financial help to wheelchair Uttaran remains there with Madhumita and her family. Recently she has to be admitted to hospital due to severe pneumonia that affects her lungs completely. Uttaran never hesitated to help this poor family even then with proper advice and financial support. And what a miracle! Madhumita is not only fit and fine at present but also is able to walk on her own though feebly yet confidently. We all wish a healthy prosperous life to this brave girl. We want her to believe that Uttaran was, is and always will be there for her.
